Factory settlement of Cukrownia Ciechanów - a workers' housing estate that is part of the Ciechanów Sugar Factory in Ciechanów. It is located in the forks of Mleczarska and Fabryczna streets, south of the buildings of the plant.
The settlement was built from 1882 to 1897, and the first house was built just after the construction of the sugar factory. The designers were Alsatians: August Schürr and his son - Wiktor. The whole consists of four residential buildings: single-storey and three storey (brick, non-plastered). The colony was planned for a hundred families. A school was also built here with apartments for teachers. The school building is characterized by rich architectural detail. In addition, there is an orphanage for young children, laundry, mangle, pigsties, cells, brick cellars and passages.
The workers' settlement at the sugar factory was a phenomenon during its construction - sugar factories worked up to four months a year, and yet it was profitable to build a settlement for seasonal workers in Ciechanów, as well as invest in a nearby farm Szczurzyn, providing food for residents.
The clerical and technical staff of the plant owned their house along with outbuildings north of the sugar factory.
The whole assumption is preserved in an unchanged form.
