Zygmuntowskie times

Zygmuntowskie times: a novel from 1572 - a historical-moral novel by Józef Ignacy Kraszewski from 1846.

For the first time published in a 4-volume edition by Orgelbrand in Warsaw; The new four-volume edition was published in 1873 by Gubrynowicz and Schmidt in Lviv.

The first significant novel by the writer, whose main feature is the dramatic fate of Stas Solomerecki, persecuted by his uncle on his estate. On the background of the adventurous hero, the author has shown the various environments of contemporary Poland: Cracow burghers, beggars and beggars, magnate mansions, and the royal court in Knyszyn. The novel was criticized for the magnates competing for the influence of the seriously ill King Sigismund Augustus.

After the release of the song, the proponents of glorification of national history insisted on the author's lack of apotheosis of the past. Despite the great popularity of the country, so far no translations of this novel have been recorded in foreign languages.

The song was remixed several times, mostly for teenagers, among others. by Artur Oppmana as the Advent of the Kok, and separately published (1899, 1900, 1905, 1913). Bibliography
