Michał Kaczmarkowski
Michał Kaczmarkowski (born September 24, 1934 in Leszno, March 26, 2003 in Lublin) - Professor of Catholic University of Lublin.
At the turn of the 50s and 60s he studied at the Catholic University of Lublin. He defended two magisterial theories: dogmatic theology (1961) and classical philology (1962). He obtained his doctorate in 1971 from the University of Warsaw. Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. He practically worked at the Catholic University of Lublin where he passed the academic career from assistant to professor. The habilitation was given in 1984 on the basis of the dissertation Nominal Latin syntactic groups of the classical period. Position of Associate Professor in 1992.
He was in charge of the Department of General Linguistics. Together with Eugeniusz Wiśniowski, he founded the Dutch Culture Center in 1977, which led to the development of the Department of Literature and the Dutch Language of the Catholic University of Lublin and a new field of study - Dutch Philology (Netherlands). He was a famous linguist, specialist in Latin philology (especially early Latin) and Dutch. Between 1987 and 1989 he was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. He sat in the Scientific Council of the magazine "Vox Patrum", editorial board of the "Yearbook of Humanities". He belonged to the Polish Philological Society, the Scientific Society of the Catholic University of Lublin. He led a doctoral seminar. In 2001, he was awarded a medal for merits for the Catholic University of Lublin.
Married with Teresa Kaczmarkowska, Dorota Kaczmarkowska's daughter is a psychologist - psychotherapist.
