Polish Yachting Association of North America

The association promotes the consolidation and unification of Polish sailing in North America. It implements joint sailing undertakings. It helps in the cooperation, development and organization of individual Clubs.

PYANA also aims to organize sailing training for emigrants to the US and Canada and promote the culture and tradition of the United States, Canada and Poland.

PYANA has five Polish sailing clubs:

The organization was founded on May 15, 1999 during a meeting in Chicago on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Joseph Conrad YC. The meeting was attended by Zbigniew Stosio, Secretary General of the Polish Sailing Association. The organization was registered in Illinois November 24, 1999 as a non-profit organization.

Myrmex Indikos, pol. Indian ant - an alleged species of gigantic ants (according to Herodot's description, larger than foxes, but smaller than dogs). The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia. Gold was to be obtained by caravans made up of several camels in the heat of the day, when the ants were protected underground. The names of the streets and squares were originally of a topographical nature, that is, they informed about: Researchers propose two names for these toponyms - urban or plateonimy. S.
