Daniel Gottlob Turk
Daniel Gottlob Türk (born 10 August 1750 in Claußnitz, died 26 August 1813 in Halle) is a German composer, organist and professor of classical music.
He studied under the direction of his father, and later Johann Adam Hiller. As Hiller's pupil he easily got a job at the University of Halle. Türk published a treatise on the role of the organist in the Church. He composed menu and 18 sonatas. His most significant contribution to the canon of classical music is Klavierschule.
In 1783 he married Johann Dorothea Raisin Schimmelpfennig, with whom he had two children. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. In 1813 Türk fell ill and died of liver disease. Bibliography
