Anna Morkisz


Anna Morkisz (born July 23, 1914 in Wielkady Hajduki, died June 5, 1962 in Świętochłowice) - teacher, scout instructor, resistance activist. Curriculum vitae

She graduated from high school in Hajduki, Chorzów Batory, Chorzów district, then in 1924 she took up her studies at the Municipal Junior Gymnasium in Królewskiej Huta (now Chorzów). In the years 1928-34 she continued her studies at the State Teachers' Seminary in Nowa Wieś (Wirek). After completing her studies, she began working as a teacher at the Secondary School in Wielkady Hajduki. Some historians say that she taught at the General School No. 1 in Świętochłowice.

From a common school associated with scouting, during the occupation of a scouting secretary. The high level of organizational and ideological scouting of women in Upper Silesia made it the only one that was conspiratorial organization that virtually avoided deception and repression.

From 1940, the head of one of the five districts of the Silesian Chorale, covering the areas of Chorzów, Siemianowice and Świętochłowice.

After the end of the war, she resumed her work in education and scouting. From 1946 in the composition of Silesian-Dabrowa Commander Harcerek Chorągwi, as head of the Department of the Service. Co-leader of the first postwar training camp in Panewniki (now Katowice district).
