Władysław Plaskura


Władysław Plaskura (born May 10, 1905 in Łazy, Czech Republic, died April 22, 1987 in Gliwice) is a Polish mechanic engineer, specialist in chemical equipment.

He studied at the Faculty of Mechanics of the Lviv Polytechnic, completed his studies in 1928. He then went on to work in the Lviv City Council, and also belonged to the Polytechnic Society. In the second half of the 1930s he moved to Mościce, where he worked in newly established nitrogen plants. Arrested in 1940, he was imprisoned in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, where he remained until liberation in 1945. After the war ended, he settled in Gliwice, where he initially worked in the design office. Since 1952 he was associated with the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Equipment of the Silesian University of Technology, and since 1953 he was the manager of the Central Chemical Board, which was later changed to the Chemical Synthesis Union. In 1963 he became an Associate Professor, three years later he resigned from the Union and devoted himself totally to scientific and didactic work. In 1975 he was awarded the title of full professor, a year later he was retired. In 1984 he was awarded the Medal of Honor. prof. Wojciech Świętosławski

Since the 1930s he was a member of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of the Chemical Industry, and in 1966 he became an honorary member of the Society. In addition, he was a member of the Chief Technical Organization, where he sat for many years in the governing bodies. Scientific studies by prof. Władysław Plaskura appeared in CHEMIK, "" Chemical Engineering and Equipment "and" Corrosion Protection ", chaired the editorial board and program councils of these magazines. Bibliography
