Glaukos (son of Syzyph)
Glaukos (Γλαῦκος) - in Greek mythology, the son of Sisyphus, after whom he took over the throne at Corinth. Father of Bellerophon.
He was known as a great rider. Taking care of the form of his mares, he did not allow the stallions to cover them, so he took the anger of Aphrodite on himself. The goddess took revenge on him when he took part in the funeral games in honor of Pelias. During the chariot race he was overtaken by Jolaos, and his own team fell over. Glaucus's horses, who had previously been drinking water from an enchanted source because of Aphrodite, devoured their master.
