Thomas J. Balonek
Thomas J. Balonek - American astronomer and physicist.
In 1974 he graduated from physics at Cornell University. In 1982 he obtained a PhD in astronomy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Since 1985, he has been working at Colgate University, since 2002 as a professor of physics and astronomy. His research activity includes extragalactic astronomy (quasars, blazars, active galaxies, radio galaxies, etc.), optical photometry (eclipsing double stars, supernovae, extrasolar planets), asteroid astrometry.
In the years 1991-1995, he discovered 9 asteroids, of which 8 alone.
