Violet Walrond
Violet Ethel Mary Walrond, born Robb (born February 27, 1905 in Auckland, New Zealand, December 17, 1996) is a New Zealand swimmer from the first half of the 20th century.
During the 7th Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920, the 15-year-old Walrond took part in two swimming competitions. In the 100m freestyle race of 1: 21.4, she finished third in the second qualifying race. She was the best player from third place, which allowed New Zealand to qualify for the finals. It took place in fifth place (with unknown time). In a 300-meter freestyle race with a time of 5: 04.6, she won second place in the second qualifying race. In the final, it was ranked seventh place.
She was the first woman to represent New Zealand at the Olympic Games. Bibliography
