He was born in Lorient. While in Paris, he became interested in the physical fitness of a man. In his opinion, "people achieve harmony of the body through skillful exercises". Using his method "la santé et le plaisir", he tried to convince the inhabitants of the correctness of his theory. It is the art of oppressing the right points on the body, which not only give pleasure, but also have healing properties allowing, among others, avoid spinal problems or rheumatic pains.
