Macrino d'Alba, original name Giovanni Giacomo Fava (born 1460/5 in Alba - died in 1513 or later) - Italian painter of the Renaissance period, active mainly in Piedmont in 1495-1513. Approx. 1490 was in Rome, where he probably studied in the Pinturicchia workshop. For the chapel of St. Hugh of Pavia painted the Resurrection. His paintings are also found in the Franciscan church of Alba and the cathedral of Vigevano. In addition to religious paintings, he painted portraits of the surrounding rulers, including the Marquis of Montferrat William IX Paleologist or Anne of Alençon. Bibliography
