Luciano Pettinari


Luciano Pettinari (born March 18, 1950 in Milan) - Italian politician, party activist and journalist, national parliamentarian, Member of the European Parliament for the fourth term. Curriculum vitae

High school graduate. Since 1968 he was one of the leaders of the student movement Movimento Studentesco in Milan. He worked as a columnist, working with the left and communist press ("l'unità", "il manifesto", "Liberazione"). He was active in the Partito di Unità Proletaria, then the Italian Communist Party. After disbanding, he joined the Communist Rebels, becoming part of the national secretariat of the party.

In the years 1994-1999 he was the mandate of the MEP of the fourth term of office. in the Development and Cooperation Commission. In 1995, he joined a new group called Comunisti Unitari, formed by the Communist Party's Rebels, who supported Lambert Dini's government. In 1998, with this formation, he joined the newly formed Left Democrats. In 2005 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the XIV, retaining him for the next 15 years (2006-2008). In 2007 he became a member of the Democratic Left Party.
