From January 9, 1916 to 1936 he was a student at the Academy of Sciences, 1918-1927 he worked at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR / USSR, 1922 he was a delegate of the RSFSR to a conference in Geneva as an expert, from 1927 he worked at the Bavarian Nitrogen Plant in Germany. In June 1930 he went to the International Energy Congress to Berlin, from where he did not return to the USSR. He worked in the USA, where he was a professor at the University of Chicago, and became a member of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington. He investigated catalytic processes carried out at elevated temperature and under increased pressure.
