Melanterius leucophaeus


Melanterius leucophaeus - a beetle species from the weevil family and the Molytinae subfamily.

This species was described in 1913 by Arthur Mills Lea.

Beetle with a length of 5 mm, coloration and scales similar to M. lamellatus and M. nemorhinus, however the color of the scales on the legs and bottom of the body is almost uniformly whitish. A long and almost straight snout - he and tentacles similar to those of M. nemorhinus. There are no traces of the middle line on the prefix. Construction of covers similar to those of M. lamellatus, but the points in the rows are slightly larger, and the interferences are less well elevated. Cloves on the front thighs are quite small but clear; on the middle, quite large and sharp, while on the back they are large and pointed.
