Kampar River

Kampar is a river in Sumatra, Indonesia; length of about 400 km.

Sources in the Barisan Mountains, flows eastward, and the estuary of the South China Sea descends at the height of the Singapore Strait.

Flying 300 km long, depth of over 6 m; Tropical forests in the upper and middle run are the refuge of rare species of flora and fauna. Sumatran tiger; from the middle of the river the river is heavily polluted by numerous wood and paper industries; Since the 1990s, a campaign to save the environment is under way.
