Jean-Baptiste Sébastien Bréval (born November 6, 1753 in Paris, died on March 18, 1823 in Colligis in the department of Aisne) - French composer and cellist.

Son of a wig manufacturer. He was educated in Paris under the direction of François Cupis and Martin Berteau. In 1775 he published his first collection of quartets. A year later he was admitted to the Société Académique des Enfants d'Apollon. He was a member of the Concert Spirituel (1781-1791), Théâtre Feydeau (1791-1800) and the Paris Opera (1801-1814).

His musical output includes about 170 works, including 10 symphonies for concertians, 7 cello concertos and the comic opera Inès et Léonore (staged in 1788 in Versailles). He is also the author of the theoretical thesis published in 1804 in Paris. Traité du violoncelle.
