Jan Ciechanowicz (officer)


Jan Ciechanowicz (born May 24, 1931 in Krzywicz, Wilno, August 31, 2001 in Gdansk) - Colonel SB.

By the outbreak of war in 1939, he had finished one class of the Krzywicz school, and in 1954 he was a general school for working in Gdansk. In 1966 he graduated from the Higher School of Economics in Sopot. From 1951 to 1953 he was a lecturer at the two-year training school of the MBP Training Center in Legionowo, where he became a member of the Section 6 of the First Division of the WUBP in Gdansk. Then he was a lecturer and an operational officer of the Section 7 Division II under the rank of lieutenant, and from 1 January 1957 - Section 3 of Section II of the SB in Gdansk. From 1 January 1961 senior operational officer of this section. From 1 I 1962 senior operational officer, and from 1 VIII 1964, head of Group 7 of the II Department of the Polish Armed Forces in Gdansk as captain, since May 1968 deputy head of the General Department of the SB in that major degree, and since December 1968 deputy head of the Traffic Control Department From 1 to 1970 Deputy Head of Division III SB. 1972-1973 listener of the KGB im. Dzierjinski in Moscow. On his return he took up his previous position and in July 1974 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and on 1 April 1978 he became the head of Division III "A" SB KW MO in Gdańsk, 15 II 1982 transferred to the head of the "C" Division of this command. In February 1989 he became a colonel. The service ended on 30 April 1989. He was buried at the Łostowicki Cemetery. Honors Bibliography
