Henryk Dutkiewicz
Henryk Dutkiewicz (born May 13, 1925, June 26, 2002) - Polish Catholic activist, President of the Catholic Intelligentsia Club in Katowice, sociologist and lawyer. Curriculum vitae In 1956 he was a member of the founding committee of the Catholic Intelligentsia Club in Katowice, but the state authorities refused to register. In 1980 he took part in another club founding venture, this time in February 1981, and joined his board of directors to suspend the club after martial law was declared in December 1981. In March 1982 he became a member of the Bishop's Committee for Trapped and Interned Aid. After the reactivation of the Catholic Church in 1983, he was chair of the social science department of the Church, and from December 1984 to January 1989 (two terms) he was its president. In 1986-1989 he was a member of the Primate Council, in 1988 he joined the Civic Committee with the chairman of the Solidarity Trade Union Solidarity Lech Wałęsa. In 1999 he became an honorary member of KIK Katowice.
In 1951 he graduated from the sociological studies at the University of Wrocław. He then worked at the Silesian Institute of Science. He headed the Research Institute for Contemporary Culture and also as legal adviser at the "Wujek" Mine in Katowice. Studied with sociology under the direction of Paweł Rybicki. He was a co-founder and long-time member of the Board of the Polish Sociological Society, established in 1968, previously, since 1963 he was a member of the Krakow branch of the PTS. Bibliography
