Front Morges

Front Morges - a political agreement of the activists of the centrist parties, created in 1936 on the initiative of General Władysław Sikorski and Ignacy Paderewski to fight the sanctuary dictatorship and foreign policy pursued by it. The agreement was set up in the Swiss village of Morges, where Ignacy Paderewski lived.

Participants included: Józef Haller, Wojciech Korfanty, Karol Popiel, Col. Izydor Modelski, General Marian Januszajtis, Wlodzimierz Marszewski. They intended to appoint Ignacy Paderewski as president and Wincenty Witos as prime minister. They demanded the restoration of democracy and closer cooperation with France. Their political efforts were directed against sanction. The immigration character of the Front made it impossible for him to gain more support in society, but his activities led to the founding of the Workers 'Party in 1937 by merging the PSChD, the NDP and the Hallers' Union. Press Bodies: Restoration, Return, Polonia and the New Republic, and after the suspension of the New Truth. Bibliography
