Brian Stokes Mitchell (born October 31, 1957 in Seattle, Washington) is an American stage, film and television actor, singer. Curriculum vitae

The youngest of four children George and Lillian Mitchell. As a teenager he lived in San Diego, California; It was there that he became interested in acting while playing in school musicals.

Thanks to the stage roles, he received a number of prestigious awards. For his performance in the musical Man of La Mancha, based on Dale Wasserman's book, he was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards (2003). These awards were honored for his role in the Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate (1999). Mitchell's creation in Mail was honored with the Theater World Award (1988).

Since 1994, Mitchell's wife is actress Allyson Tucker. The couple has a son, Ellington.
