Act I sans paroles I is a play, created in the form of pantomime, by Samuel Beckett. It was written in French in 1956 and then translated into English by the author himself. Act without words, and was first shown on April 3, 1957 at the Royal Court Theater in London. The action takes place in the desert. Pantomime is about a man who is trying to get a decanter with water, suspended on a string. The circumstances of the fate in turn help this, they interfere with reaching for water. In 2002, Karel Reisz directed the film version of the act without words as part of the Beckett on Film project. The music was composed by Michael Nyman. Bibliography
