The Anglican Church of Kenya
Kenyan Anglican Church - is the province of the Anglican Communion in Kenya and consists of 31 dioceses. The Primate of the Church is the Archbishop of Kenya, now Eliud Wabukala. History of the Anglican Church of Kenya dates back to 1844 when the first missionary missionary (CMS), Dr. Johann Ludwing Krapf, arrived in Mombasa. Missionaries learned African languages in order to share and spread Christianity. The first Eastern Diocese of Africa was established in 1884 and included Uganda, Kenya and Tanganyika with James Hannington as the first bishop. At present the church has over 5 million faithful.
