Michał Kowalik


Michał Kowalik (born September 27, 1914, died on January 18, 1994) - soldier of the National Military Organization, collaborator of the South Branch of the National Department of the emigrant Political Council.

On January 27, 1953, he was sentenced to death by the Kraków Curia priests. The State Council on August 18, 1953, changed the sentence to life imprisonment. On March 11, 1959, the Assembly of Judges of the Supreme Military Court quashed the 1953 sentence. The case was referred back to the Court of the Warsaw Military District. At the request of the Prosecutor General of the Polish People's Republic, the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court, on December 16, 1963, amassed the criminal proceedings against Michał Kowalik under the Amnesty Act of 27 April 1956. On February 10, 1992, the Warsaw Military District Court annulled the decisions in the trial of priests of the Krakow Curia in 1953. Bibliography
