Jacob Pinkerfield
Jacob Pinkerfield (born 1897, 23 September 1956 in Ramat Rachel, Israel) is an Israeli archaeologist and architect. In the 1950s he conducted excavations on Mount Zion, at the site of the supposed tomb of King David, and of the Christian Cenacle. He identified the traces of the building after the ancient house of prayer of the Judeo-Christian community. The work did not finish because he was killed in 1956 in an armed assault at the archaeological conference at Ramat Rachel in Israel. His work was continued by the archaeologist of German Bargil Pixner OSB.
