Helena Paleolog
Helena Paleolog (born 1431, 7 November 1473) is the daughter of the late Mistry of Thomas Paleologian, wife of Lazarus II Brankowicz, Serbian ruler in 1456-1458. Curriculum vitae
Helena was married as a child to Lazarus II Brankowicz, with whom she had three daughters. Shortly after the death of her husband, she married her eldest daughter, Maria, for Stefan Tomaszewicz Kotromanich, King of Bosnia since 1461. When the Turks took control of Bosnia, the young queen was taken to the harem of the Turkish general; Helena and her two younger daughters managed to escape to Leukas. One of the girls, Milica, married her in Kefalonia and Leukas, Leonardo III Tocco, but she died childless after several months of marriage. The second, Irena, was married to John Kastriota, the son of Skanderbeg, and together with him after her father-in-law went to Italy. Helena remained at the court of her son-in-law at Leukas, finally going to the monastery, where she died in 1473. Bibliography
