Willem van Rekum
Willem van Rekum (born June 9, 1892 in Arnhem, December 27, 1961) is a Dutch rostrum runner, Olympic vice-champion. Brother Marinus, also a silver Olympic medalist.
Van Rook started at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. At these games the athlete along with the Dutch national team won a silver medal in rope draw (it was the last official tournament in this discipline at the Olympic Games). With his teammates won the semi-final against Italy (2-0) and advanced to the finals. The Dutch lost 0-2 to the British, but they were still in second place. They won 2-0 with Belgian drafters and won Olympic silver.
It was the only Olympic competition in which van Rekum took part. Bibliography
