Stanisław Szkiela
Stanisław Szkiela (born September 23, 1904 in Warsaw, March 28, 1983) is a Polish sports activist, baker.
In 1921, he was a co-founder (along with Jan Władysław Wilczyński) of the Sarmat Sports Club, working as a baker. During the Second World War he was involved in underground activities since 1940, using the nickname "Lochen" for his profession. He was assigned to the Third Circuit of Waligora District of the Warsaw Army in Warsaw. In the Warsaw Uprising he fought in the rank of sergeant. After the end of war he returned to the profession and was a baker master, in 1945-1948 and 1960-1972 he was the president of the Sarmata Workers' Sports Club and in 1958-1969 he was the Vice President of the Administration and Organization of the Polish Cycling Union, 1958-1970 chair of the CRZZ cycling section.
He was Wojciech Szkiela's father. Bibliography
