St. Martin's Well
General view
The St. Martin's Well - a well, a wooden cross and accompanying tourist infrastructure located in the Krotoszyńskie Dąbrów (Municipal Forest Complex), the southeastern Helenopol Forest and the Buczyna Helenopol Nature Reserve in the Zduny municipality.
The first mention of this place dates back to 1663. There was a wooden church of Sts. Martin and the hermitage. In 1790 the temple was closed due to bad technical condition. The object was completely destroyed, so in 1834 the remains were demolished. During the Prussian partition, the Krotoszyn youth, associated in the Society of Tomasz Zana, gathered here at patriotic meetings. In these secret clashes participated, among others. Bl. Michał Kozal, Bishop Stanislaw Lukomski, historian Kazimierz Krotoski and dr. Władysław Bolewski.
