Janusz Latalski


Janusz Latalski from Latalic and Łabiszyn coat of arms Prawdzic (d. 1557) - Voivode of Inowrocław and Poznan. The son of Jan Latalski, the castellan of Gniezno and Zofia Skocka. Brother of John, Archbishop of Gniezno. He married Barbara Kretkowska, the daughter of Mikolaj, the governor of Inowrocław. Five children were born. Sons: Stanislaw (1531-1598), starosta inowrocławski and człuchowski, Janusz and Jerzy (died 1602). Anna's daughter was the wife of Jan Krotoski, the governor of Inowrocław.

He was the first to write from Łabiszyn. In 1516 he became the starost inowrocławskim. He served as Lieutenant of Lublin from 1520. In 1529 he went with another Polish knight for a trip to the Tatars. He was captured in Oczakov and was captured. He was redeemed by his brother John, then the Poznan bishop.

Since 1530 he also held the castellan of Gniezno, since 1535 the governor of Inowrocław, from 1538 - the voivode of Poznań; He was also a Człuchowski county governor. In 1538 he was appointed Count of the Roman State. In 1543 he sent to the Emperor Ferdinand to associate the marriage of King Sigismund II of Austria with Elisabeth of Austria. At the Sejm of 1552 he also defended Stanislaw Orzechowski against the bishops.
