Abram Sycowski


Abram "Alex" Sycowski (born July 13, 1892 in Wielgomyn, Poland) - American gangster of Jewish descent, accountant and right hand of Al Capone. Curriculum vitae Abram Sycowski was born on July 13, 1892 in Wielgomyn, was the son of a Jewish felcher. As a six-year-old he went to the United States, grew up in Chicago. After introducing prohibition, he became a smuggler of alcohol, running an alliance with the Italian gangs, and became a major contributor to Al Capone and a major smuggler. After his arrest, Capone was threatened with arrest and assault by other gangs, so he left for Europe.

Back to Europe was not successful, the Polish authorities refused to allow him entry, attempting to prevent the threat of organized crime. Sycowski, expelled from Poland, left for Paris, where he organized an illicit trade center for opium and morphine. Again threatened with arrest, he left for Austria, where he was arrested in 1935.
