In 1973 he graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology, in 1973-1977 he studied philosophy at the University of Lodz, at the same time working professionally (initially in the Municipal Transport Enterprise in Łódź (1974-1975), then the Łódź Pretoer Cinematographic Works (1977). In December 1975, he signed one of the protest letters against changes in the Constitution of the Polish People's Republic (the so-called List 300), from 1976 he cooperated with the Workers' Defense Committee, then with the Social Self-Defense Committee "KOR." In September 1977 he signed the Declaration of the Democratic Movement, from October 1977 he belonged to the Puls magazine, in which he was responsible for the preparation of photographs, in the same year also belonged to the founders of the Independent Discussion Club in Lodz, operating until 1978. In 1978, he was dismissed from work at the Institute of Heat Engineering and Refrigeration of the Lodz University of Technology then worked as a print from the NOWA Independent Publishing House, he finally found employment at the Łódź Institute of Textiles.
In 1980 he became a member of the Founding Committee of NSZZ "Solidarność" in his workplace, in May 1981 he became a delegate to the First General Assembly of Delegates of the Region of Lodz. In connection with the announcement of Martial Law he was interned from December 13, 1981 to July 1982, he was in a prison in Łowicz. After his release, he emigrated to the USA.
In 2008 he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (M.P. from 2009, No. 27, item 366) and the Silver Medal "Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis". Bibliography
