Rheinmetall Lb 202 20mm cannon
Rheinmetall Lb 202 20mm cannon - experimental 20 mm caliber cannon designed in the Rheinmetall plant in the 1930s. History
In the 1930s, a number of 20 mm caliber aircraft were designed at Rheinmetall. The plot was based on a short barrel recoil and used 20x105B ammunition (the so-called "Solothurn short"). Their overall design was similar to the 2 centimeter FlaK 30. The Lb 201, Lb 202 and Lb 204 were designed. Lb 202 was the planned armament of the Arado E.500.
The exact meaning of the "Lb" mark not used in other German plots from that time is unknown, it is thought to originate from the name of the constructor Heinrich Lübbe or from the words lafette beweglich (movable fastening), meaning the method of fixing plots in motion stations shooting.
