Pelagia Gdeczyk née Eitner (born on December 21, 1852 in Popowice near Inowrocław, died on August 1, 1930 in Gniezno) - a Polish photographer who ran a photographic studio in Gniezno for forty-two years

She gained her knowledge of photography at the Poznań plant: Balbina Mirska (in 1878), and Eufemia and Aniela Rivoli (in 1878-1879). She opened her own atelier on 31 May 1879 in Gniezno, in a building on the corner of today's Mieszko 34 and Mickiewicza St. (then: Horna 32 and Nowa). From 1900, the plant ran on ul. Mickiewicza 6 (then Nowa 6), and probably around 1903-1904 she opened a branch in Września (in 1909, she gave it to her husband). She retired from her professional activity after forty-two years, in 1921, and the factory sold to Aleksander Tchorż.

She was a portrait photographer, but she also photographed the sights and monuments of Gniezno and Trzemeszno. In 1884 she received a special bonus at the industrial exhibition in Pleszew.

She also acted socially, in 1918 representing Gniezno at the District Court in Poznań. She also participated in the Deputation for Poor Affairs and the Vincent de Paul Association. Bibliography
