Hydrometric mill
Hydrometric mill - a device in the form of a fan for spotting the speed of flowing water. The measurement consists in counting the rotor's rotations in a given time. It is important that the measurement time is not too short, because the value of water velocity (especially shallow and fast mountain streams) is subject to slight but rapid fluctuations. The water speed is a function of the rotor speed, which is the quotient of the counted number of revolutions and the time of the measurement. Each hydrometric mill should be periodically tared.
