Flaga Helu
Flaga Helu
Helium flag - one of the symbols of Hel town. The blue flag depicts a yellow key between two yellow stars in a blue field that supposedly signify two existing independent cities at that time: New and Old Hel. Although the old settlement is already dead in the seventeenth century, the coat of arms has remained unchanged until today. And on the free side are three vertical yellow strips. The key and star area occupies a surface of 36 x 37 cm and the gold stripes are 2.5 cm wide. The distance between the strips is 1 cm. The coat of arms on the flag is from the 16th century.
The key symbolizes the patron saint of fishermen - St. Peter and the defensive nature of the city, the blue color - the Baltic Sea.
The flag should be hung shorter than the side of the coat. Bibliography
