Fairytales - a collection of fairy tales in Polish Biernata from Lublin from the beginning of the 16th century.
Fairy tales, also called by the author of fairy tales or parables, were published together with Life of Esop Fryz. The collection contains 210 fairy tales (5678 verses) written in four-tone stanzas, almost regular eight-syllable, with female AABB rhymes. The pieces are based on prototypes from various collections (Rimincjusz Rinuccio d'Arezzo, Romulus, Hekatomythia Abstemius).
The individual tracks in the set have different lengths, but are similarly structured. The title, often referred to as proverbs, announces the teachings of the song, while the last stanza teaches in a simple way the most important thought. The plot is reduced to a short narrative that expresses the character of good or bad (animals, plants, human types, divine beings). Heroes often carry opposing traits (such as laziness - hard work, cunning - credulity).
From the fairy tale a rather pessimistic picture of the world emerges. Victory is usually stronger, the bad, the rich. Sometimes, however, the weaker form wins with virtues, such as diligence, fidelity or modesty. The writer is clearly on the side of the weak, but wise and good. Bibliography
