The Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association, the organization for the civil rights campaign for the Catholic minority in Northern Ireland in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The formation of the organization began the meeting of members of the Wolfe Tone Societies in Maghera in August 1966, attended by the Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army Cathal Goulding. The ratification of the constitution was signed on 9 April 1967 in Belfast.
The purpose of the organization was a campaign of civil rights by promoting, documenting and lobbying to end discrimination against the Catholic minority. The main activities were reforms in areas such as the equal allocation of social housing, the "one person, one vote" electoral system, honest public service employment and the restructuring of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
The organization ceased its activity after the bloody Sunday of 1972.
