Karol Winiarski


Karol Winiarski CSsR (born 28 January 1910 in Zakościel, died 4 August 1972 in Cracow) - Polish Redemptorist, bible teacher, translator of the Holy Scripture. Curriculum vitae

In 1921 he entered the lower seminary. He began his ministry in 1928 and was ordained a laureate on August 12, 1934. He was then sent to study in Rome, and in 1936 he secured a bachelor's degree in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, and a bachelor of science degree in the Pontifical Bible Institute in 1938. Since 1938 he was a lecturer of the Higher Spiritual Seminary. He stayed in Tarnów in 1939-1940, then returned to Tuchów, was chaplain of local units of the Home Army, and in 1945 was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit with Swords.

From 1946 to 1947 he lived in Toruń, then returned to Tuchow, where he performed, among others. the function of the monk's convent, vicar's vicar (since 1951), vicar substitute (since 1956). In 1965 he settled in Cracow.

For the Millennial Bible translated the Book of Wisdom of the Syracus and Book of the Baruch. Bibliography
