August Ludwig Ferdinand von Nostitz (born December 27, 1777 in Cieszyn near Oleśnica, May 28, 1866 in his fortune Saturday near Lwówek Śląski) - Graf, Prussian general of cavalry and general-adjutant of Frederick William III. Life
After completing his studies in 1799 Nostitz took up the administration of property in the Lviv district. In 1801 Hochberg set up a tournament at Prince's Castle in honor of the Prussian royal couple. During the tournament, Nostitz attracted the attention of Frederick William III with his riding skills and a beautiful horse, so that he offered him an officer's degree. On January 30, 1802, he became Second Lieutenant (second lieutenant) at the first regiment of the Garder du Corps in Berlin. In 1806 Nostitz took part in the war as lieutenant (Premierlieutnant) and commander of the escadron. He fought under Jena, but was taken captive under Prenzlau. Released under the word of honor, he returned to Silesia and on February 24, 1810, he left the service. On the journey he took, he was presented to Napoleon in Paris.
As soon as in 1813 King Friedrich Wilhelm III arrived in Silesia, Nostitz registered in the army. He was appointed captain of the Silesian Lancers Regiment and on May 16, Blücher became his adjutant at the request of Blücher, who served uninterruptedly until the General's death on September 12, 1819. On August 19, 1813, his own property on Saturday became a battlefield and was devastated. During the Battle of Ligny on the evening of June 16, he accompanied Blücher in an unsuccessful cavalry charge. When a horse was knuckled under the field marshal, Nostitz stood with a pistol in his hand to defend him, and when the rescue came, he brought Blücher back to safety. In 1825 Nostitz became general. The 1828-1829 Russian-Turkish War spent in the headquarters of Tsar Nicholas I.
In 1835 Nostitz became the second commandant of Berlin, in 1838 the Generalleutnant, and in 1840 the head of the fifth hussars' regiment (Hussars Blücher). In 1847, he abandoned his active service, was awarded the rank of General Cavalry in 1849, and served from 1850 to 1860 at a court in Hanover.
Nostitz died on May 28, 1866 and rested in the mausoleum of the Sabbath.
