Matthew Shija (born April 17, 1924 in Pugue, December 9, 2015) is a Tanzanian Catholic priest, bishop of the Diocese of Kahamy, 1983-2001. Curriculum vitae

November 11, 1983 Pope John Paul II appointed him the diocesan bishop of Kahama. On February 26, 1984, Cardinal Laurence Rugambwa accepted the bishop's episcopal ordination. On April 24, 2001, due to age, Pope John Paul II resigned from his function.

He died on December 9, 2015.
