Upper salivary nucleus

It is one of the cranial nerve nuclei, more specifically one of the two facial nerve nuclei, in addition to the motor nucleus of the facial nerve, simply referred to as the facial nerve nucleus or the facial nucleus.

The probable location of this nucleus is defined as the lower part of the bridge, so it lies in the backbone.

In this nucleus, there are pericarbons of neurons, whose protrusions form the pre-nerve fibers forming the facial nerve. Within it, they travel to the wing-palatine coil and the mandibular ganglion. The extent of the filamentous fibers coming out of these threads includes the submucosa, sublingual salivary gland, lacrimal gland, nasal glands and gingival epithelium. However, for tarsal neurons, lacrimal gland is mentioned.

The frontal fibers of the upper salivary nucleus pass through the part of the facial nerve, called the intermediate nerve.
