Rheinmetall Rh-120 - Smooth-bore gun designed and manufactured by the German company Rheinmetall. The gun was developed in response to Soviet achievements in the design of tanks and the development of new armor. Production began in 1974, the first version was 44 calibers (L / 44). It was mounted on German Leopard 2 tank and manufactured under US license to М1А1 Abrams and other tanks. The American version, М256, uses a return spring instead of a hydraulic system.
