Lech Bieganowski


Lech Andrzej Bieganowski (born on June 7, 1940 in Kowalewo Pomorski, died on March 22, 2017) - Polish doctor, doctor habilitated in medical sciences. Curriculum vitae

In 1964 he obtained a doctor's degree at the Medical Department of the Medical Academy in Gdańsk (currently the Medical University of Gdańsk), and then he started working at the Municipal Hospital in Toruń. There, in 1968 at the Department of Ophthalmology he obtained the first degree of specialization, and in 1972 the second. Then he was employed in the Ophthalmology Department of the Teaching Teaching Team in Bydgoszcz, later transformed into the AM Ophthalmological Clinic. In 1977 he obtained a doctoral degree on the basis of a dissertation entitled "The problem of prevention of retinal detachment in high myopia in patients with cataracts". From 1977 until his retirement he was the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Provincial Hospital. Ludwika Rydygiera in Toruń. He received the postdoctoral degree of medical sciences at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (currently Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin) in 2003. His habilitation dissertation received the distinction of the Polish Society of the History of Medicine and Pharmacy. He was an activist of the Scientific Society in Toruń and an associate professor of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Kujawy Higher School in Włocławek.
