The main causes of ecotoxicity in the environment are: industry, agricultural chemistry or civilization development factors such as strong electromagnetic fields near transmission lines and noise. Natural sources include eruptions of volcanoes that emit large amounts of sulfur, chlorine and dust.
Substances introduced into the environment by human activity include, for example, dust, sulfur dioxide, PAHs, heavy metals, fertilizers and pesticides.
