Boris Jefimow


Boris Jefimovich Jefimov (born 28 September 1900, died October 1, 2008) is a Soviet cartoonist, cartoonist and cartoonist. He created for the sake of Soviet propaganda the character of Uncle Sam characterizing capitalist America. Yefimov ridiculed Hitler in the caricatures that were published by Russian newspapers during World War II. He died at the age of 108. He was buried at the Novodevsky Cemetery in Moscow. His brother was Mikhail Kovetsky, a Soviet journalist, the first editor-in-chief of the weekly Ogoniok, a war correspondent during the Spanish Civil War, in February 1940.
