Edward Thomas Daniell
Rhine in Constance, circa 1830 Edward Thomas Daniell (born June 5, 1804 in London, died September 24, 1842 in Antalya) is an English clergyman, painter, graphic designer and traveler. An artist associated with Norwich School, his teacher was the leading representative of this school John Crome. He painted mostly naturalistic watercolors depicting landscapes. He also created etchings that critics of art considered ahead of time in which they were created. He maintained contacts with many artists, including his friends. William Turner, John Linnell, David Roberts, William Dyce, Thomas Creswick, William Collins, Abraham Cooper, John Callcott Horsley and William Clarkson Stanfield.
In 1831, Daniell was ordained, served for two years as vicar of Norfolk, later became parish priest in one of London's parishes. He died during the expedition to Turkey. The largest collections of his work are the Norfolk Museums. Bibliography
