Apolinary of Hierapolis
Apolinary of Hierapolis, also Apolinary Claudius or Claudius Apolinary (c. 179) - Bishop of Hierapolis during the reign of Mark Aurelius (161-180), apologist and Father of the Church, Holy Catholic.
He was a Christian Greek writer and theologian from Asia Minor, author of writings against the Montanists. The bishop's office took over after the death of St. Papias. He wrote many works directed against heretics, but none of them survived to this day.
His liturgical memorial in the Catholic Church is celebrated January 8th. Bibliography
