Ludmila Dvořáková


Ludmila Dvořáková (born July 11, 1923 in Kolín, July 30, 2015 in Prague) is a Czech opera singer. Curriculum vitae Ludmila Dvořáková was born on July 11, 1923. In 1949 she made her debut as a title character in Káťa Kabanová in the opera Leoš Janáček in Ostrava. In the 1950s she performed at the National Theater in Prague and the Slovakian Opera in Bratislava, later in the Vienna State Opera and the Berlin State Opera. In the years 1966-196 she sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In 2002, she received the Thálie Award for the whole of her work, and in 2012 the Antonín Dvořák Award for her contribution to the popularization of Czech music. She died on July 30, 2015 with her sister in the fire of her apartment.
