Hippodrome in Jarantów
General view with a wigwam
Hippodrome in Jarantów - horse racing area located in Jarantów (Kaliski poviat).
The object was designed by Karol Rumel and Czesław Konieczny. Rumel did not wait until the track opened, because he died earlier in a car accident. The contractor was Klub Jeździecko-Strzelecki "Jako". Among others wetlands were drained. Eighteen 26-meter pines served to build a multi-storey wigwam, which together with the tower is 27 meters high. Wigwam houses three hundred people, serving, for example, conference purposes. The hippodrome was put into operation in 2004.
On August 27-31, 2008, the 5th World Championship in Single-Horse Driving took place here. At that time 68 competitors from 20 countries competed, including 18 teams.
